Contact Manager (“the app”, “we”, “us”) helps you view, organize, move, and de-duplicate the contacts already stored on your Android device. This policy explains what the app accesses, what little it collects, and how that information is handled.

The short version: Your contacts stay on your device. The app reads them directly from Android to show and manage them, and never uploads, transmits, or stores your contacts on any server. We collect only anonymous usage statistics and crash reports to fix bugs and improve the app.

1. Information the app accesses on your device

To do its job, the app reads and writes the contacts stored on your device — including names, phone numbers, email addresses, organizations, and similar fields — and which account each contact belongs to (Google, Samsung, SIM, your phone, or app accounts such as WhatsApp).

This contact data is processed entirely on your device. It is never sent to us, and it is never shared with any third party. When you move, merge, edit, or delete a contact, those changes are written directly to your device’s contacts through Android’s standard contacts provider.

2. Information we collect

We collect a limited amount of non-personal, anonymous information through Google Firebase to understand how the app is used and to detect problems. This does not include your contacts, their names, numbers, emails, or account names.

Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics)

Which screens are viewed and which actions are performed (for example, that a “move”, “merge”, or “delete” happened, and how many contacts were affected).
A Google-generated, app-specific installation identifier, plus general device and app information (device model, OS version, app version, language, country).

Crash and diagnostic reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

If the app crashes, we receive a diagnostic report: the error and stack trace, device state, OS and app version. This helps us fix the problem.

3. Permissions we request and why

Contacts (read & write) — required. Used to display your contacts and to move, merge, edit, and delete them at your request.
Phone state / phone numbers — optional. Requested only to label your SIM cards (for example “SIM 1 · Carrier”) and show SIM numbers on dual-SIM devices. If you decline, the app still works.

The app has no account, no sign-up, and shows no ads.

4. How we use information

To provide the app’s core features (viewing and organizing your on-device contacts).
To understand which features are used so we can improve them.
To identify, diagnose, and fix crashes and bugs.

5. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell your data and we do not share your contacts with anyone. The anonymous analytics and crash data described above are processed by Google Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics) acting as our service provider. Their handling of that data is governed by Google’s privacy policy:

6. Data retention

Your contacts remain on your device and under your control; the app keeps no separate copy. Anonymous analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase according to Google’s standard retention periods.

7. Security

Because your contacts never leave your device, they are protected by your device’s own security. Analytics and crash data are transmitted to Firebase over encrypted connections.

8. Your choices

You can grant or revoke the app’s permissions at any time in your device’s Settings → Apps → Contact Manager → Permissions.
You can stop all analytics and crash collection by uninstalling the app.
You control your contacts directly — the app only changes them when you ask it to.

9. Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
